What Actually Happens on Your First Visit to Mahle Chiropractic

Walking into a chiropractor's office for the first time can feel like a bigger deal than it needs to be. A lot of the New Castle patients we see tell us afterward that they wish they'd come in sooner, mostly because the whole process was simpler and faster than they expected. Here's what actually happens, step by step.

Before you arrive

The single easiest way to speed up your first visit is to fill out your paperwork before you get here. We have a New Patient Form for general visits and a separate Auto Accident Form if you're coming in for an injury related to a car accident. Filling either one out in advance means less time in the lobby and more time actually being seen. If you're not sure which form applies to you, just call ahead and we'll point you to the right one.

We also have Spanish-speaking representatives available, so if English isn't your first language, that's not a barrier to getting scheduled or understood once you're here.

At the front desk

When you arrive, our front desk staff will get you checked in and answer any questions about your paperwork or insurance. We accept Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, including Security Blue and Freedom Blue, along with Medicare, Aetna, Cigna, Coventry, UnitedHealthcare, and UPMC. If you don't see your provider on that list, call us, coverage situations vary and it's worth asking rather than assuming.

We also offer same day appointments when your schedule doesn't allow for planning ahead, so a first visit doesn't always have to mean waiting a week or two to be seen.

During the visit

One of our three doctors, Dr. Mahle, Dr. Bowser, or Dr. Argiro, will talk with you about what brought you in, take a look at how you're moving, and decide on the right approach for that day, whether that's manual adjusting, instrument style adjusting, or a supporting therapy alongside it. Everything is explained as it happens. Nobody here rushes you through without telling you what's going on.

• Ask at the front desk about same day availability if you need to be seen quickly
• Spanish-speaking representatives are available if that's helpful for you or a family member

After you leave

Before you head out, we'll talk about what comes next, whether that's a follow-up visit, some simple things to do at home, or just checking in on how you're feeling in a few days. We're a family friendly environment, and a lot of what we do is built around making that first visit as low-stress as possible.

Scheduling around your week

We know a first visit is easier to commit to when it actually fits your schedule. We're open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Thursday from 1 PM to 6 PM, which gives most people at least one evening option during the week. We're closed Saturday and Sunday. If none of that lines up with your week, call us anyway, we'd rather work out an option than have you put it off.
