Therapies Offered
An adjustment moves the joint. These three therapies work on the tissue around it, before or after the doctor sees you.
Chapter 01
Ultrasound, for the tightness the adjustment can't reach by itself
Sound waves at a frequency you can't hear are used to break up tightness in the muscle tissue around a joint. It helps decrease spasm and trigger points while bringing extra blood flow to the area, so a muscle that's been guarding a sore spot for weeks has a better chance to actually let go.
Most Lawrence County patients get it on the same tight neck or low back that's already being adjusted. It's not a stand alone visit. It's the tissue work that makes the adjustment hold.

Electric stimulation, run to the pad or run by hand
Small electric impulses help the muscle contract in a natural way. That increases the range of motion, reduces pain, improves blood flow to the area, reduces muscle spasm, and helps prevent the muscle from wasting while it's healing. It's the same mechanism whether it's delivered through pads left on the treatment table or run manually by one of the doctors.
Manual electric stimulation gets used when a spot needs more precision than a pad sitting still can give it, an inflamed spot near the shoulder blade or a specific trigger point in the low back, for example. Both versions are covered under the same visit, at the doctor's discretion.
Chapter 03
Cupping, for circulation and inflammation around a stubborn trigger point
Localized suction is created around trigger points and tight musculature. It's used for decreasing muscle spasm, decreasing inflammation, and increasing circulation to a spot that hasn't been responding as fast as the rest.
It's the therapy that shows up least often on the schedule here, because it's used where the other two haven't fully done the job, not as a default add on to every visit.
Where mechanical axial traction fits in
The low back gets its own therapy, mechanical axial traction, because a compressed disc in the low back needs a different kind of work than a tight shoulder muscle. That one has its own page.
